These handmade fused glass coasters created by artist Laurie Freivogel artfully celebrate the iconic Santiago Calatrava-designed addition to the Museum.
Laurie Freivogel fell in love with printmaking while studying for her BFA at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design. Freivogel spent months researching and experimenting in her home studio to develop a unique method of combining printmaking with fused glass. Using fine enamels, she prints with multiple screens onto layers of glass to create depth and pairs the designs with amazing glass color palettes. Inspired by pop-culture, pattern and nature, she strikes a visual balance between the graphic printed image and the nature of glass: color, translucency, light and depth.
Each coaster may vary slightly from the image due to the handmade nature of the glass product.
